Golf Ireland EGMs - date change

Change of Date for EGMs of ILGU and GUI to vote on Golf Ireland Proposal

  • 28 September 2018

The GUI and ILGU are in the process of briefing Clubs on the Golf Ireland Proposal, to form a single governing body for golf in Ireland, in advance of EGMs of both organisations at which clubs will vote on the Proposal.
It was originally intended to hold both EGMs on Saturday, 17th November.
However, as many clubs hold their AGMs in November/December, during some of our early briefing sessions where the response to the Proposal has been very positive, a number of clubs suggested that it might be preferable to defer the GUI / ILGU General meetings to ensure that club members would be fully informed as they arrived at club decisions on the Golf Ireland Proposal.
Consequently, the Unions have agreed to hold the vote on Saturday, 19th January 2019 at the AGM of the ILGU and at a specially convened EGM of the GUI.
Both the ILGU and the GUI have been buoyed by feedback from Clubs at the initial briefings and further briefing sessions are scheduled to run until mid-October. Should your Club require any further information or support, please contact Golf Ireland Project Manager, Sarah Crowe: sarah@ilgu.ie
