Organising a Club Qualifier
If you haven't done so already, your club must organise a qualifying competition to be played over 9 holes. Where competition play conditions exist, this competition MUST be qualifying for handicap purposes.
The competition can be organised in one of two ways:
Notifying us of your club's pair to participate in the regional final
You must notify us of the winning pair from your club by midnight on Tuesday 4th June 2019.
Click here to complete the notification process.
You will need the player's names, email addresses, contact numbers and Golfnet numbers to complete this process – which should only take a few moments.
The regional finals
Regional Finals will be played in four venues.
Click here to find out the venue and time that your club pair have been assigned to.
In order to ensure equity to all participants, times and venues are non-transferable. We will update these time-sheets in the first week of June to include the names you have provided us. If one or both of your winners are unable to play on the designated date, it is acceptable for the runners-up to take their place.
The format of the competition is qualifying 9 hole stableford and the combined singles stableford points of each team member will count towards the team's total. The winning club pair from each of the four regional finals will be invited to participate in the R&A 9-Hole Challenge on Saturday 13th July at the 2019 venue for The Open, Royal Portrush. The winning pair need to be available to travel on Friday 12th July 2019.
