3TS Golf Challenge Cancelled

Organisers of the Annual 3ts Golf Challenge have announced the cancellation of this year’s event which was due to run during the Summer until the finals which were due to be held in the K Club on the 12th of October.  This is the first time that the event will not take place since it was set up 18 years ago.

The annual challenge is run in conjunction with the PGA and ordinarily enjoys great support from approx 3,500 golfers throughout Ireland. The tournament is an important fundraiser for 3TS, a charity dedicated to Suicide Prevention and raising awareness of the issue of suicide and the devastation it causes in communities throughout Ireland.

The event was set up and continues to be managed by Joe McAvin of Killiney Golf Club on behalf of 3TS.  Speaking about the cancellation, Mr McAvin said

“2020 was set to be the 18th year of the tournament in which golfers from all GUI clubs have an opportunity to play great regional venues and finalists play the K Club Ryder Cup course - all for €10!

Whilst we are sorry to cancel the tournament this year, we are already looking forward to 2021.  Details will be announced in January next so please visit www.3ts.ie for further updates.  In the meantime, if anyone would like to make a donation to 3TS, details on how to donate are also available there.”
