Golf Ireland has been established and will become the new, single governing body for golf in Ireland, building on the huge legacy and achievements of the GUI and ILGU.

While the new organisation will become fully operational in January 2021, in advance of that date a number of important transitional arrangements will happen. Clubs will formally become affiliated to Golf Ireland in October; the first Annual General Meetings of the new Regional Executives will take place; and the officers and members of the national board of Golf Ireland will be selected.

The below comprehensive guide to the new regional structures has been prepared by the Golf Ireland Transition Board and is intended to assist clubs in their preparations for these meetings.

This guide is indended to be helpful but, as many of the arrangements are new and complex, please feel free to contact Golf Ireland if you require any further information or clarification.

Mark Kennelly, Chief Executive of Golf Ireland said: 'I would like to take this opportunity to thank all club officials for their ongoing work on behalf of their clubs and members, particularly during the challenging times that we have all been living through in recent months.

'I look forward to working closely with with officials and clubs in the months and years ahead.'
