Level 5 Activities - updated information for clubs and facilities

Since the government published guidance last Thursday evening in relation to how sports facilities can operate while under Level 5 restrictions, we have received a number of queries in relation to what activity within golf clubs is permitted at this time.

Note: This is for clubs in the Republic of Ireland only. Others copied for information.

As they are not recognised as essential services, the decision of government is that all sports facilitates including golf courses, practice facilities and driving ranges must close during the Level 5 restrictions with some exceptions.

Golf clubs and facilities are permitted to undertake structured training sessions of school-aged children during Level 5, as long as these sessions comply with the guidance supplied. Other exemptions are in place for a small number of professionals and high performance golfers who meet certain criteria as defined by Sport Ireland.

The document below addresses the main queries we have received in the past number of days, and should you require clarification on any point, please email info@golfireland.ie
