Ireland are defending the title at this year's European Men’s Seniors Championship in Slovenia.

Five of last year’s six-man team return for the title-defence as Ireland go in search of a fourth successive victory at the Europeans.

Jim Carvill is a new addition to the side, which won last year in Bulgaria. Carvill joins Tom Cleary, Maurice Kelly, Garth McGimpsey, Adrian Morrow and Arthur Pierse for the trip to Ljubljana. In a change to the competition format, the minimum age has been reduced from 55 to 50, which enables former pro Carvill to come into the frame for this year’s Championship

Ireland completed a hat-trick in 2015 and have been the dominant force in Europe with five titles since the Championship began in 2006.

After two rounds of stroke play qualifying, the top eight teams will enter Flight A and battle it out for the European title across three days of match play combat.
