Fairhaven next up for Bridgestone Boys Merit Chasers

​The Golfing Union of Ireland have selected a squad of four boys to compete at the Fairhaven Trophy (4-6 May).

The Fairhaven is the next event in the Bridgestone Boys International Order of Merit. Slieve Russell's Odhran Maguire, who currently shares top spot in the Bridgestone series, is named alongside Tom McKibbin (Holywood), Eoin Murphy (Dundalk) and Edward Walsh (Mallow) in the GUI squad travelling to the event.

Team manager Kevin Murray (Tramore) accompanies the squad. There are four other Irish players competing at the Fairhaven. Athenry pair Allan Hill and David Kitt take their place along with Keaton Morrison (Greenacres) and Charlie Denvir (Elm Park).

The 72-hole stroke play tournament begins on Friday 4 May with a cut after the second round on Saturday 5 May. The top 34 and ties progress to the 36-hole finale on Sunday 6 May.
