Primary schools across Munster are being given the chance to put FORE-ward their entries into a fun trick shot competition for the chance to win a VIP trip to this year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, while the winning participant will also have the tournament trophy visit their school for a day.

This year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, the second of eight Rolex Series events on the 2019 Race to Dubai, will be hosted by 2014 Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley and takes place at Lahinch Golf Club in County Clare from July 4-7.

Leitrim’s Shane O’Hara, winner of a trick shot competition run alongside the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in 2017,  launched the competition with his own unique trick shots

To enter the competition, parents and teachers are asked to submit the trick shot video online via Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, name the school and location in the post and use the hashtags #DDFIrishOpen and #KidsTrickShot.

The winner, to be selected by the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open judging panel, will win a family trip to the tournament for the week as well as a VIP tour, while the famous Dubai Duty Free Irish Open trophy will also visit their school, along with a very special guest. Closing date for entries is the 30th May with the school visit taking place in June.

Simon Alliss, Championship Director of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, said: “We are thrilled to have the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in County Clare for the first time this July and with such a great prize on offer, we hope to see as many students as possible in Munster getting creative with their trick shot videos.

“This event has always been a favourite in the Irish sporting calendar and the support is incredible year-on-year, so we are delighted that we can engage with the local community to help grow our game and provide our fans with an experience like no other.”
