As the season draws to a close so with it do the Inter Club events and the quest for that provincial pennant cherished by so many.
On Saturday last in very testing weather conditions Tubbercurry (pictured above) traveled to Castlebar (pictured below) comforted by their final first leg 4-1 win the previous Saturday at home.
On paper it looked like a straightforward task but as all golfers will know it's not over until the final putt has dropped.
After a pulsating afternoon of golf played in very poor weather conditions but on a course which stood up well Tubbercurry's nineteen year wait to claim a second Jack O'Sullivan ended when Mark Burke and Eoin Gallgher added the required second match point in game five to the opening one secured in game one by Michael Haran and Fergus Marren to the delight of a large traveling support.
The overall margin of victory over the two legs being declared as 7-3.
