Donnellan comes out on top at Mulranny

Bitterly cold conditions proved the hardest test of all

  • 19 February 2020

Thirty-five brave young boys and many following parents took to the links at Mulranny yesterday where winds gusted and frequent hail showers proved just one of the many tests which the brave boys faced.

Nevertheless in the Gross Stableford format three handicap Rory Donnellan (Galway Bay) lived up to his lowest handicap in the field tag to take top spot on 26 gross points, two clear of a pair of players.

Although there was no prize for Nett Stableford it would be remiss not to mention that just turned 11 years of age, John William Burke (Ballyhaunis) had the best score of the day with 34pts, a truly wonderful score in the conditions.

Winner - Rory Donnelan, Galway bay 26pts

Runner-up - Kevin Connaughton, Roscomnmon 24pts (B9)

Best U16 - Lorcan Feeney, Enniscrone 22pts

Best U14 - Finn Rohdich, Athenry 24pts
