Craddockstown Golf Club played host to the Leinster Inter Schools League Match Play Semi-finals and final yesterday. The final was very closely contested however Scoil na mBraithre came out on top beating Donabate Community School by four holes. The team comprised of Mark Power, recent winner of the Peter McEvoy Trophy at Copt Heath and his brother Kevin along with members of the Leinster Elite Coaching Panel. In fact four out of the five team members are from Kilkenny Golf Club, testament to the excellent junior structure the club has in place. Scoil na mBraithre were also semi-finalists in the recent Irish Schools Senior Championship at Athlone GC.
The heavy rain and bitterly cold conditions did not stop Donabate Community School from securing their place in the final by beating St. Vincent's College, Castleknock by four holes in the first of the semi-finals. Scoil na mBraithre had to fight hard for their place in the final by narrowly defeating Newbridge College on the 20th hole.
Sincere thanks to Craddockstown Golf Club for the use of their course and facilities once again.
