36 pairs will compete over 36 holes Stroke Play for the title in an event that dates back to 1974 when it was won by Brian Malone and Vivienne Singleton.

24 year old, Stuart Grehan (Tullamore), currently the highest ranked Irish player on WAGR who partners Carla Reynolds (Seapoint) will lead the challenge this weekend.  Grehan who broke his arm earlier in the year made a full recovery and was the winner of the R & A Foundation Scholars Tournament back in March.  He is one of three amateurs invited by Team Ireland Golf to compete in the Irish Challenge Pro Tour event at Mount Wolseley next week.

Defending champions, Fergus Harrold and Shirley Real of Castletroy will be aiming to bring home the trophy again to Cork while fellow club members, Andrew McCormack and Chloe Ryan winners in 2015 at the K Club will put up a strong challenge.  Chloe has had a great season, was a member of the victorious Ladies Home International Team and finished in a tie for second place in the R & A Scholars event at St. Andrews.
