The relentless rain did not take away from the quality of play on display at the Leinster Semi-finals and Finals of the AIG Senior Cup today at Naas Golf Club.
In the first of the semi-finals, Royal Dublin beat Co Meath GC 4/1 to secure their place in the finals while defending champions Carton House beat Dun Laoghaire 4.5/0.5 to qualify for the afternoon's play.
However, despite the poor conditions, it was a very closely fought match with three matches going to tie holes. It was Carton House who claimed victory over Royal Dublin 3.5/1.5 in an exhilarating finish and will now go on to represent Leinster in the All Ireland Finals at Donegal GC on 17th & 18th October.
Huge thanks to Denis Mahon, Secretary Manager, Dave Behan, Course Superintendent and the Committee and Staff of Naas GC for all their assistance on the day. The Course was presented in excellent conditions with the attention to detail being first class.
