The below link gives the dates, times, and venues for all Munster GUI Team Competitions for 2019

The format for the AIG Pierce Purcell reverts to foursomes for 2019.

Your attention is drawn to the “Cups & Shields Matrix”, which is also included in the link, which details all the requirements for this year’s tournaments, including the new Seniors’ Inter-Club Fourball (Fred Perry Cup)with the addition of a column with regard to caddies for the various events.

The four card condition continues to be in place for the AIG Junior Cup, AIG Jimmy Bruen Shield and AIG Pierce Purcell Shield, Michael Cashman Four ball , Irish Mixed Foursomes and the Seniors’ Inter-Club Fourball ,all of which must be recorded on the handicap record of the player’s home club on or before 31 December 2018.  Nine-Hole qualifying competitions are admissible under this rule but Supplementary scores are not included. If a player changed his Club during 2018, it is his/her responsibility to produce evidence of having completed a minimum of four qualifying competitions.

The agreed norm is one practice round at the nominated venue for a team plus two reserves. As per agreement with the Clubs, practice on the day of Cups and Shields matches will not be permitted throughout the province.

Pace of play will be closely monitored by all referees with particular emphasis on the 3 minutes allowed for a ball search and the recommended 40 seconds per stroke (Rule 5.6b)

Some first Round matches will be played prior to hosting week-end in some of the Cups & Shields Tournaments in order to alleviate the burden on the hosting and participating Clubs.

It may be necessary to change times/dates listed at the discretion of the GUI Munster Branch with the approval of hosting Club.

We wish to thank all the Clubs for the continued use of their facilities and assure them of our support. We wish to thank most sincerely our sponsors who are very important to the continued success of our tournaments.

On behalf of myself, the Chairman, Provincial Council and Administration Staff, may I wish you good health, good golf for 2019 and best of luck in your endeavours to capture one of the coveted pennants.
