Seapoint’s Dylan Keating won the Munster Boys in Ballybunion today, carding a level par final round to stay clear of the chasing pack.  Starting with a seven shot lead, the Leinster and Irish capped golfer went out in three under, keeping pace with playing partner Thomas Higgins who was also three under after some impressive golf in fine conditions.  The rain came in for the back nine, reducing the opportunities for the chasers, and Keating finished with five shot lead over the field.  Liam Abom (Edmondstown) was second after a final round 69 , and third place went to  Thomas Higgins who closed with a two under par 70.  Simon Walker and Cian O’Sullivan carded the low rounds of the day, shooting four under par 68.

The Cashen Course in Ballybunion provided a fine test over the three day, with golfers having to compete with wind and rain on the opening day.  Keating took advantage of the benign conditions on the second day, and shot a 65 to take a commanding lead on the championship.  The end of season win was a welcome boost for Keating, he won the Irish Under 16 and the Ulster Under 16 in 2018, but was without a win until today.  The championship was kindly sponsored by Gleeson Sports Scene, continuing their long tradition of supporting junior golf in the province.
