In what were perfect conditions for golf, the picturesque 9 hole course was excellently presented and proved a challenge to both teams. After the front nine it was very even. A number of alternative tee boxes in the back nine gave a different perspective however it was around the greens where most of the holes were won or lost. In the first match Donegal led most of the match but with wins at 17 and 18 Rossmore won by 1 hole. Match number two also proved to be a close encounter with Rossmore again edging it on the last few holes to win 2up. A comprehensive win by the fourth pairing for Rossmore provided the Monaghan men with the necessary 3 points to secure victory.
