Loughgall collected their first Ulster pennant when winning the Ulster section of the Fred Perry Trophy on Saturday. Carrying a 3.5 to 1.5 advantage over fellow finalists Strabane from the first leg, they took an early lead after three holes only down in one match, and they never conceded this advantage.
When Seamus Golding and James Corkin won 5 and 4, their hole advantage was also improved substantially. The win was confirmed when Patrick McElmeel and James O’Hagan won the sixteenth hole for a four and two success.
