Caption: Stephanie Meadow
Stephanie Meadow opened with a steady but less than outstanding performance after carding a one over par, 73 on day one at Q School over the Hills Course, Daytona Beach, Florida.
She dropped a shot at the first but quickly picked one up at the second hole. An unfortunate double bogey on the 9th meant she turned in two over. She played a consistent back nine which included eight pars and a birdie on the 11th. Meadow's 73 places her in a tie for 52nd place alongside 19 other players.
Thai player Pannarat Thanapolboonyaras and American amateur Katelyn Dambaugh are tied leaders on five under.
Meadow will play the Jones course today with playing partners Tubert and Tanguay, with the hopes of jumping up the leaderboard. The Hills course proved more difficult on day 1 as it played to an average of 75.068 while the Jones course played 72.621.
There will be a cut to the top 70 and ties after the fourth round and the final round will be contested on the Hills course.
Players that finish in the top 20 - no ties - will earn LPGA Tour status in category 12 on the 2017 priority list while those that finish 21 through 45 - including ties - will earn status in category 17. Players that finish a minimum of 72 holes, but don't earn LPGA Tour status, will receive Symetra Tour status in category E on the Symetra Tour priority list.
