Day 2Christine Petit-Martin (France) still leads the way at the Irish Senior Women's Open Stroke Play in Belvoir Park. Christine had another solid round today posting a 2-over par 75 to remain in the top position, 5 shots clear of Gertie McMullan. The chasing pack are tightly bunched with only 7 shots seperating the Top 10 behind Christine. Margaret McAuliffe, Suzanne Corcoran & Sheena McElroy are amongst the Irish in the Top 10 and will be hoping for another big day tomorrow.The top 40 + ties will now progress into Round 3 to battle it out for the top spot. There is an International flavour to the leader-board at the Irish Senior Women’ Open Stroke Play Championship at Belvoir Park Golf Club, Belfast.Despite heavy conditions from the outset, compounded by torrential rain during the day which caused an hour and a half suspension of play, Christine Petit-Martin from France, carded a one over par 74 to lead the field by three shots in a round that included birdie twos at the par 3 8th, 14th and 16th holes.In tied second place is England’s Amanda Mayne, Margaret McAuliffe from Ballybunion and current holder of the Irish Senior’s Open title Gertie McMullen (The Island) who had two twos from the remaining par 3’s on the course, the 4th and 11th holes.
