The ILGU will once again be sending a panel to the English U16 Open Stroke Play Championship, which this year takes place in Lyme Regis Golf Club on the 7th  - 9th of August. The 6 who qualify through an order of merit sytsem will travel with U16's Coach, Michelle Carroll and ILGU Psychologist, Lee-Ann Sharpe. 

Points will be awarded for TWO out of the following events: 
1. Irish Women’s Close Championship (16 – 19th June)
2. Connacht Women & Girls Championship (28 – 29th June)
3. Leinster Girls Championship (3 – 5th July)

The U16 Championship shall consist of 72 holes of Stroke Play. One round of 18 holes shall be played on each of the first two days. After 36 holes the leading 40% of competitors and ties shall play a further 36 holes on the third day. The winner shall be the competitor who returns the lowest score over 72 holes. In the event of a tie, there will be a sudden death playoff over holes to be decided by the Championship Committee.
