The NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship begins Friday, May 17 in northwest Arkansas.

The first round of stroke play competition begins at 8:15 a.m. EDT on Friday. After 54 holes, the top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team play one more round of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match play and the 72-hole individual champion. The top eight teams compete in match play Tuesday and Wednesday to determine the national champ.  

Both Olivia Mehaffey (Arizona State) and Julie McCarthy (Auburn) assisted in their teams qualification to the NCAA National Championships at their respective Regional Championships. 

Individually, Mehaffey, following fantastic three rounds of golf finished the Norman Regional with a 208 (-8), good enough to earn her a share of the Regional Medalist honors with Oklahoma's Kaitlin Milligan.

Mehaffey and McCarthy sit in 7th and 10th respectively in the Golfstat Division I Player Rankings.
