A record purse of $5.5 million, the first ever $1million prize for first place in the history of women's professional golf and Ireland will have two Professional golfers in the field of a Major Championship for the first time.

Stephanie Meadow and Leona Maguire quaified for the 74th Women's US Open at Charleston Country Club via Sectional Qualifying earlier this season. While Maguire already has two wins this year and leads the LPGA Symetra Tour money list, Meadow will relish memories of her third place finish on her Professional Debut at the US Open at Pinehurst where she finished just three shots behind Michelle Wie.

The field of 156 players get play underway on today with TV coverage on SkySports available over the weekend.

Maguire is paired with Dame Laura Davis and Karrie Webb in round one while Meadow plays alongside Esther Henseleit and Marissa Steen.
