As the final events of the 2019 season approach, the Order of Merit tables are beginning to take shape.

Paula Grant (Lisburn) is on track to secure the Women’s Order of Merit for a third year as she posted significant finishes in the Irish Women’s Close, the Irish Women’s Open Stroke Play and the Welsh Women’s Open Stroke Play. Grant currently holds a 250 point advantage ahead of Jessica Ross (Clandeboye) with three qualifying events yet to be completed.

Anna Foster (Elm Park) sits atop of the Girls’ Order of Merit with just two events remaining. Her consistent play throughout the year has ensured a 11.25 point lead ahead of Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle), however the Girls’ Amateur Championship from August 13 – 17 holds substantial points value before the eventual winner is crowned.

In a new venture this year, the ILGU and The Faldo Series joined together to establish the Faldo Series Order of Merit. Each District Girls’ Championship now counts towards an Order of Merit – from which the top four players will be selected to attend the Faldo Series Grand Final in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, in November.

Anna Foster (Elm Park), Corrina Griffin (Killarney), Jan Browne (Kilkenny) and Anna Dawson (Tramore) currently hold those top four positions with just the Mid Leinster Girls’ Championship remaining.

The Senior Women’s Order of Merit has been dominated by Gertie McMullen (The Island) in recent years. McMullen has topped the table on the last three occasions but currently lies in 5th position with three counting events remaining.

Laura Webb, 2018 Senior Women’s Amateur Champion, leads the way on 890 points, 332 ahead of Alison Taylor. The Irish Senior Women’s Open, the Royal Portrush (Zara Bolton) Scratch Cup and the Mid Leinster Championship will determine the next winner of the Senior Women’s Order of Merit.
