​The 90th Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship begins at Montado Golf Resort

The Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship, the first European international event of the year, begins at Montado Golf Resort this week. The 72 hole stroke play championship runs from January 29 to February 1 and four Irish players are set to compete among the international field.

Jessica Ross (Clandeboye) is Ireland’s highest ranked player in the field (WAGR 106). Paula Grant (Lisburn) joins her Home International team mate at Montado and Girls’ Internationals Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle) and Kate Lanigan (Hermitage) have also travelled.

Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (France), now World Amateur number one, will not return to defend her 2019 title, but a strong International field including Italy’s Alessia Nobilio will ensure a competitive Championship.
