Tension is a common issue that affects all golfers.

You alone are your best guide when it comes to your tension levels. It is difficult to tell if someone else is feeling body tension at a particular stage in movement so self-coaching is critical here.

Alone, go and hit balls or play a few holes and pay attention to your physical state. Firstly, see if you can address the ball in a state of zero tension. Secondly, see if you can swing without tension. This may seem futile at first as you might feel that you are not offering any effort whatsoever to your swing but repetition of this thought can only help your game.

GOLFNET TIP: Pay attention to tension throughout your entire game and remember that it can vary from day-to-day.
